President's Report

As I wrap up my time as your Chapter President, I wanted to say it has been a real honor and pleasure serving you, our chapter members.  Celebrating the Chapter's 40th anniversary throughout this year has been one of many highlights for me.

I encourage everyone to "get involved."  This chapter exists because of its members and it's volunteers.  So don't be shy, raise your hand, and help shape the future of the Detroit Chapter for the next 40 years.  

Be sure to SAVE THE DATE and attend our August Full Day event on August 22nd!  We will be celebrating not only National Payroll Week, but our 40th anniversary as well.  We have a fantastic line-up of speakers and topics, and the opportunity to earn 4.5 RCH.  We will have breakfast, lunch and snacks to keep you fueled the entire day.  And a special opportunity to find "lost money" with the State of Michigan Unclaimed Property Division.  Registration will be opening soon so be sure to watch for an upcoming communication.

Community Service

Food insecurity doesn't just happen at the holidays.  During the summer months, when kids are out of school, many families struggle to put food on the table that they counted on the schools to provide.

This season, we have partnered with Gleaners to help combat food insecurity for families in need.  

We smashed our original goal of $500 with a full month left in the campaign, so we were challenged to increase the goal and push for a few more donations.

All donations are being matched by Citizen's Bank, so every dollar donated will provide 6 meals instead of the usual 3.

Thank you to those who have already donated to this wonderful cause.  If you have not yet donated, please consider doing so or at least sharing our link with your friends and family.  Our campaign is open thru July 31.  

And don't forget, anyone who donates $25 will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 Amazon gift card.  Those donating $50 or more, get 2 entries into the drawing.

Recent Events

In the ongoing effort to celebrate the Chapter's 40th Anniversary we held our June monthly meeting at Comerica Park! 

Attendees chowed down on Little Caesars pizza while learning about how to enhance their problem solving skills.  Afterward, we took in a rainy, but very exciting game vs the Cincinnati Reds and witnessed a Tigers win!!

After the game, some stayed for the free Ludacris concert.
